  BR15 microwave meter

  Microwave radiation may be invisible and odourless but it is by no means harmless. Today’s world is full of devices, appliances and gadgets which emit microwave radiation. Microwave ovens are an obvious example and so are mobile telephones, but what about cablefree video surveillance systems, WLAN, Bluetooth, some radio transmitters, remote control units and a fair number of cordless DECT telephones?

  This is where the BR15 comes in. The BR15 is designed to detect and measure microwave radiation that is emitted from high-frequency appliances and devices which work in the 2.45GHz ISM band and pick out the culprits that emit excessive and therefore intolerably high levels of radiation.

  It could be a leaking microwave or a certain WLAN router, one of your family’s mobile phones or a transmitter not far from where you live – it doesn’t matter what it is, the BR15 roots out the sources of unacceptable or even harmful emissions and presents the measurement as a digital value on an easy-to-read, backlit display. But because high microwave emissions can be so dangerous, the BR15 also has an acoustic alarm which goes off and a warning symbol on the display which lights up whenever the ICNIRP guideline reference level for public exposure of 5 mW/cm² (0.155in²) is exceeded.
