  BG20 carbon monoxide meter

  Carbon monoxide is a killer. And because it is a colourless, odourlous, tasteless gas it is not only highly toxic but ruthlessly lethal. Carbon monoxide poisoning is, tragically, still a common-day occurrence. Carbon monoxide leaks from stoves, heaters and faulty equipment both at home and in the workplace can lead to high levels of carbon monoxide which can result in unconsciousness after just 2 or 3 breaths and death within minutes.

  That’s why carbon monoxide meters have to be reliable – extremely reliable – and extremely accurate. The BG20 is an extremely reliable and extremely accurate hand-held carbon monoxide meter which is ready to use within 20 seconds after powering up. The BG20 is able to detect and measureable carbon monoxide concentrations from 0 to 1000 ppm (parts per million) within ± 10 ppm and present these readings on a large, easy-to-read backlit display.

  Because somebody’s life may one day depend on it, the BG20 is equipped with an audible alarm which sounds intermittently when the carbon monoxide concentration in the ambient air exceeds 35ppm and increases in rapidity the higher the percentage of carbon monoxide in the air becomes. The warning signal changes into a permanent signal as soon as the carbon monoxide concentration has exceeded the critical upper threshold value of 200ppm.

  The BG20 is equipped with a number of extremely useful features: there’s the clearly-arranged keys which allow you to operate the BG20 single-handedly if necessary, the hold function which freezes the current measured value and allows you to take time to convince yourself of the reading, the auto shut off function which powers the BG20 off after 15 minutes of inactivity in order to conserve energy and prolong the life of your battery and there’s the internal memory for up to 10 different values which can be used for further processing and documentation.

  The BG20 is not just another acquisition, a toy or a tool that hobby enthusiasts feel they must have.
