Data privacy declaration


The purpose of this declaration is the collection, processing and use ( "application") of personal data that is collected when you use the service provided by TROTEC.

  1. Responsible agency
    The responsible agency for the purposes of the Data Protection Law is TROTEC GmbH & Co. KG (see masthead).
    Should you have any questions about the use of your data or the should you wish to make use of the remedies described here, simply use the Contact button.

  2. No consent through use
    The use of your data is governed by the relevant statutory provisions, in particular the Federal Privacy Act and the Telemedia Act. Where data is collected for a purpose which would require your permission according to these provisions, you will always be asked for your explicit consent. You can withdraw your given consent at any time with effect for the future and / or object to the future use of your data. The mere registration, use of the services or awareness of this statement does not replace your explicit consent.

  3. Application of your data
    The ways in which your data may possibly be used are briefly described here.

  4. Collection of data
    Personal data is collected when you initiate the ordering process; this includes information about yourself and the data required for processing. From this data, only those claims are provided as mandatory information required for the contract.
    If you use the returning customer function, TROTEC automatically collects and stores in the server logs technical information which your browser sends to us. In particular, this includes the IP address of the computer you are using, as well as data, the so-called cookies (see "Cookies") which were deposited and the pages that you requested.

  5. Processing and use of data
    TROTEC uses the collected data for four basic purposes, although not all data is actually used for all of these purposes:
    The data for your account on your person and address (inventory data) is used to create and manage the utilisation ratio (order).
    We use the data about your use of the individual services (usage data) as part of the technical management of user services (simplified ordering). It may happen that user data from different services are brought together for accounting purposes.

  6. Data transfers to third parties
    TROTEC transmits your personal information to third parties only if this is necessary for processing or billing for an order, particularly if a third party requires this data for the settlement of the contract (such as credit card companies or delivery services providers; data is transferred to third parties only where this is required for provision of the service). In accordance with applicable laws, government agencies may also request information or data to fulfil its statutory duties as required, e.g. for prosecution purposes.

  7. Data deletion
    If your data is no longer needed for the above purposes, including settlement, it will be deleted. Please note that deletion of the data is initially blocked, and this is only then permanently deleted after a time delay in order to prevent accidental deletion or even potential intentional damage. For technical reasons, data may possibly be duplicated in backup data files and service mirrors. Such copies may also possibly only be erased after a technical delay.

  8. Cookies
    Cookies are data which are stored on the hard drive of a computer in order to facilitate navigation. These avoid the need to enter all of the required data again every time you use the service. Cookies facilitate the use of TROTEC services. You can prevent the saving of cookies onto your hard drive by selecting "Do not accept cookies" in your browser settings. You can also set your browser to ask you if you agree before setting cookies. Finally, you can even set cookies to be deleted every time.   9. Data security
    TROTEC constantly strives to protect your data from unauthorised access, loss, misuse or destruction. Your personal information is only accessible to employees who are required to view your data to maintain your business effectively and offer you the best possible products and services.
